Located in the Serra dos Órgãos, and less than 100km far from Rio de Janeiro city, Teresópolis is one of most attractive cities of Brazil. It has a privileged weather, with an annual average of 16o celsius, it attracts tourists who want to rest and have a good time.

Curiosity
The most famous natural monument of Teresópolis is the pico do dedo de Deus (God’s finger Peek). Even though the natural monument does not belong to Teresópolis, it belongs to the Guapimirim county , that makes boundary with Teresópolis.

The history
Teresópolis - City of Teresa - it is a homage to D. Teresa Cristina, wife of D. Pedro II, that in the end of the century XIX fell in love with the Freguesia of Santo Antônio of Paquequer.
The origins of the city, started in the beginning of the XIX century. Already in 1810 the English John Luccock says that behind the Serra dos órgãos, there are several unknown paths that will meet Paraíba´s river , a three day trip. He also says that by passing by the Córrego Seco (Dry creek) (Petrópolis), the roads were in poor conditions and infested by Indians ".

In 1818 the Portuguese George March, arrives at the unknown lands and rents Paquequer’s farm, from the inheritors of Joaquim Clemente da Silva Couto, where it is now the district of Alto. There, he begins agricultural and hotel enterprises that, lead off the colonization of Teresópolis. (information found in the History book of Teresópolis, of João Oscar, Ed. Chromes)

National park of Serra dos órgãos (Organs Mountain ridge)
A very beautiful place , from where we have an overview of the Serra dos ógãos with its countless peeks. It offers a variety of leisure and sports options, such as: mounting climbing, hiking, trailing and so on.

Lago Comary (Lake Comary)
Comary, it is a place with a great natural beauty and several elegant residential condominiums. In this place we will find the Comary club, besides the lake that has the same name (Comary) and CBF (Brazilian Soccer Confederation ). The Brazilian soccer team and several other clubs send their athletes to the headquarters of CBF in Teresópolis because it is a perfect environment for practicing sports.

Feirinha de Teresópolis (Teresópolis’ Handcrafted Fair)
It is the second larger Fair of Brazil, it is known as (FEIRARTE), and it opens during the weekends. Mulher de Pedra ( Woman of Stone)
Located in the highway Teresópolis-Friburgo, in the Subaio mountain , it is part of Serra do Mar, it is a group of mountainous with 2040 m of altitude. The Hill has this name because it looks like a Woman lying down, a view that is reproduced by the mountains. Permanent visitation.
